Plotlines

The world of Felas is the focus of the project, with the plotlines a kind of starting point for what lore I want to develop. Characters are from X location, let's make sure I have that fleshed out to further define who that character is, etc.

None of them have actual titles, I've never been good at naming things. The "titles" currently are more just descriptions. It's not a priority, as long as it helps you keep track of them.

There are two layers of lore I'll be sharing here. "IL", "In Lore", is public knowledge, what would be written in the world. "OOL", "Out of Lore", is lore that I as the creator and you as the audience may know for the full picture of Felas, but are unknown to the people; Meta Lore, if you will. The timeline of plots uses OOL dating, my scale that I use for consistency's sake, but within the plots themselves there's a local calendar and different ways to count years.

0 G marks the year the Winter Genocide began. Powerful states of Namrok violently colonized Ussiar and after decades of propaganda, they convinced the nami populations to "drive out" the local erylai.

In the Atrian Empire, the calendar is based off its creation: 0 G is Year 109 IE.

Valkovas - PG 55-48

Antis is the prince of Vallakovas, an Underground City in Ussiar built from the ruins of ancient tunnels under the mountains. He has two older sisters, twins who've fought for the crown their entire lives. Upon the elder Hansa's coronation, the younger Arinya makes one final stand. When it fails, she flees into the wilderness. Hansa goes mad with paranoia, and Antis acts as a shadow-king for her.

But there's a secret he never shared with anyone: as a child, before all the political collapse, he liked to explore the Underground Tunnels that stretched further than the city limits. During one of his deeper expeditions, he discovered a magic portal that transported him to a different world. This world was like Felas, but Antis was unable to use any of his magic.

He mets a girl in this world, and despite time moving differently between planets the two teenagers become close friends. But then his father dies, his sisters fight and he has to start ruling the city in his sister's stead. He forgot about it entirely, but years later he was reminded of its existence. When he was able to get the time, he returns to the portal.

Werewolves - PG 15

In the Silver Peaks of Ussiar, there are plenty of stories about magicborne diseases. One of them is Therianthropy, werebeast transformations. Jiyu and their partner Sumin know the legends, but are confronted with it when Jiyu's attacked by a rabid animal in the woods and contracts the disease. Thus begins an adventure to the sea to find a medic who could cure Jiyu.

This plotline is my "walking simulator loredump" excuse, a relatively simply plot. They travel down the mountains, experiencing wild shit the Peaks have in store for them. The mountains have OOL lore about its magic, which will be detailed on its encyclopedia page.

Winter Genocide - 0 G

Escaping the suffocating confines of her life, Kerra flees from the Namrok kingdom of Siero. During this time, it's allied with the Empire and joined a Sponsorship Program. Despite some close calls with bounty hunters, she really was making a life for herself here.

Kerra ends up in the middle of a generations-old fued between nami and erylai. The nami wanted to colonize the land, a rich paradise compared to Namrok. States funded propaganda labeling erylai as lazy parasites, and violent parties began to grow until that winter of 0 G, when powerful Nami states including Siero began issuing rewards for driving out native erylai populations. Madu was always a strange child growing up. He found it difficult to connect with children his age, and always put himself in dangerous situations just for the thrill. He didn't know his mother Arwa was not actually his mother, but his aunt. He didn't know his mother had come to her sister heavily pregnany, warning her about the Empire and its human experiments. He didn't know why his "mother" was so protective of him, why he was never allowed to leave their small village in the swamps of Kvolsum. He didn't know why, at a certain age, he began experiencing bursts of magic corresponding with his emotions - humans weren't supposed to be born capable of magic power.
