Plotlines

Here are the basic details and synopses of the working plots set within Felas. The sidebar links will lead you to further details, such as characters and setting pages - but don't expect me to spoil the entire story, I may want to actually do something with them one day! These are going to be like what you'd find on the back of the book, the setup and all that. None of the stories have working titles, so they will be listed under temporary names. Once I have ideas for titles, I'll update them on the site.

The years I'll be using for this page are not the dates within the stories, instead an "out of lore" dating system I use to keep everything organized. Year 0 marks a major event known as the Winter Attacks, a multi-country attack in Ussiar, fueled by imperialism and supremacy. One of the plots takes place during the Winter Attacks, where details of the event will be written. "PW" stands for "Previous Winters", while W stands for "Winters" since the event.

Valkovas - PW 55-48

Antis is a prince of Valkovas, a city built from the remains of ancient underground tunnels. His older sisters, twins Egita and Zanna, have always butted heads due to Egita's jealousy over Zanna for being ten minutes older and thus the true heir to the city. From a young age, it fell upon Antis to be his sisters' mediator. After their father passes and Zanna is to be crowned Queen, Egita attempts a coup to take the throne for herself. After it fails, she flees from the city and disappears for seven years. During those seven years, Zanna falls into paranoia and Antis is forced to act as figurehead of the city when she is too afraid to leave the palace.

Being a co-ruler is more responsibility than Antis wanted, and it only gets more complicated when he discovers a long-hidden secret deep within the Outer Tunnels outside Valkovas' limits.

Winter Attacks - 0 W

Makona is a noblewoman from the northern state of Sinha, one of the few states in the subarctic regions of Namrok that have joined the rise of international trade. Sinha is a strict and oppressive state, one where Makona's worth comes from her ability to have children for her family. For her entire life, Makona has hated her place in society and longed for something more. After hearing about a new sponsorship program hosted by the southern Atrian Empire that would allow her to travel across the seas to Ussiar and start a new life, she makes it her goal to finally leave Sinha's control - even if it means leaving everything she's ever known behind.

Through the sponsorship, she travels to Ussiar, to the state of [Name Pending]. She meets Kyran, her eryla host, and begins to rebuild her life within the village of Nehode. But it isn't as simple as she'd hope, with tensions rising between the Atrian Empire and the native erylai who are pushing back against its influence and expansion. It's only a matter of time before things reach a breaking point.

The Winter Attacks are a response from the Empire and its allies, hiring anyone with hatred for the erylai to rampage across the country and "subdue" anyone they come across. Makona finds herself caught within the chaos.
