Magic of Felas

Felas is a world infused with magic. It's a force of nature, an energy that exists in all things and can be manipulated with those with the right knowledge.

Magic storms are created from magic-energy mixing with itself. Pure magic-energy storms typically manifest as thunderstorms, the lightning being a pinkish-purple shade. More often, high levels of energy will intensify existing storms.

There are regions with higher concentration of magic-energy, which can greatly affect its surrounding environment. The most famous is the Silver Peaks Mountain Range, the largest region with the highest levels of energy.

Natural Magic

Universal Magic Elements

The Universal Magic Elements, (UME), are used both in History and in Meta-Lore. In History it's the Imperial Elemental System; as Meta-Lore, it works as a general starting point/reference for other systems. Some cultural magic have more elements, some have just four or five.

Fire. The UME includes elements like Lightning as Fire Magic.

Water. It's common for Ice to be its own element, but within the UME it's classified as a branch of Water Magic. It also encompasses mud, steam/vapor, and other water-based liquids (and even further).

Wind. Wind Magic became an invaluable element to study in the modern age, used for radio and airship spelltech.

Nature. Aside from the common plant manipulation spells, Nature Magic is most known for its use in herbalism and potion-brewing. Nature Magic is the most common element used by fey.

Stone. Many cultures include rock and metal in a Nature element, but Stone in the UME specifically focuses on those.

Light. The UME differentiates Fire Magic from Light Magic, with Light Magic having more use as its own element when applied to spelltech, Felas' modern technology powered by magic-energy "batteries".

Life. Life Magic is a unique element, in that it can only be performed through another element as its "focus". In many magic systems it's intrinsically Nature, but the Empire teaches any elemental focus in the modern day.

Spirit. Spirit Magic is a "modern" magic element, developed by the Empire. Similar spells have existed before, but the UME is the first to categorize them as their own element.
