The World of Felas
Welcome to my corner of the internet! You can call me Ryan, or Rye if you like nicknames. I've been a writer since I knew how to put my thoughts on paper, starting with short stories in elementary and starting my first multi-book series in middle school.
When I was younger I dreamed of being a professional/published author, but growing up I've since abandoned the idea. One of my biggest "flaws" as a writer is that I'm always going back to edit the writing itself, adjusting it so it flows better as a book. Instead of forcing myself to write the stories and lock them, I've since embraced this little quirk. I call Felas my "worldbuilding project", a hobby more than anything. How much of this fictional world can I document? How detailed can I make my lore? I didn't read Lord of the Rings until a few years ago, after seeing the movies nearly a decade ago (god, I'm getting old...), and I didn't really know Tolkein until when I started reading. He was a big lore nerd, and would go off on lore-rants mid-story. That's my guy! The only thing I need is the knowledge in linguistics.
What would become the Felas Project began as a number of small, disconnected plotlines. Some have stuck with me since the 2000s: Underground City Vallakovas has almost entirely changed, the only thing staying the same is the core plotline: a royal prince trying to prevent his rivaling sisters from destroying everything; Ulprugo Ex-Assassin was inspired by a session of play-pretend I had with my cousin, which is... funny, in retrospect. The Witch Hunt was adapted from an idea I had floating around, as was the Project: Tagesi plotline. Some were created to be set in Felas, like the Pirates - that one's a blatant excuse for me to focus my attention on certain worldbuilding: pick a character, decide where they're from, and start detailing those out.
I've been considering sharing my work online for a couple years now, so it would be more than just a document folder on my computer. After finding this wikipedia template (credit again to HTML5 Templates) was what really solidified it.
This page will give you the basic run-down of Felas as a setting. I currently have 10 plotlines set on Felas, set across the entire known world over the course of about 150 years. These stories are not direct sequels to each other; each have their own location and cast of characters, with little to no connection to the plot that came before or after.
Note: I have two levels of "lore": History and Meta-Lore (ML). History is the knowledge that people of Felas have access to, in some capacity. Meta-Lore is lore that I, as the Writer/Creator, know and am sharing with you, the Reader/Audience, that the people of Felas wouldn't know (at least in "modern day").

Felas, the Planet
The science and math behind Felas is thanks to The Worldsmith by Artifexian.

Felas is the fourth planet from its sun, which is marginally older than Earth's sun and is 45% more luminous. It takes 614 days for Felas to orbit the sun, and 28 hours to spin on its axis. In terms of physics and geology, it's functionally an Earth equivalent.
Moons
Felas has two total moons: one major and two minor. From here they will be referred to as Mundane (the major moon) and Magic.
Mundane is the largest moon, most alike Earth's moon (which I'll refer to as the Moon for simplicity's sake). It's smaller than the Moon by mass, but is closer to Felas and appears 30% larger. Its tides are 74% weaker than Earth's. Mundane is speckled with oceans of ice water, making its full moons 40% brighter and its new moons visible during a clear day. Its orbit around Felas takes 31-32 days.
Magic is smaller than Mundane, and is a pinkish-hue in the sky. Its color changes with its phases, sliver-moons being a dark purple before being "swallowed" by the night. Instead of the ocean, its pull affects the pull of magic energy on Felas like tides - the fuller the moon, the stronger the magic. Therianthropy is linked with Magic; full moons force their transformations, day or night, no matter the level of self-control. Its orbit around Felas, in relation to the stars, is 179-180 days. Its phase cycle, from full moon to full moon, takes 238 days.
Landmasses
There are five continents of Felas, with four inhabited by modern humans. The positions of three of the continents allow for the creation of the Intercontinental Current that flows clockwise. The Current was the backbone of modern trade.
The Arctic Continent is the northernmost landmass. It's entirely covered in glacier, and is inhabited by an especially aggressive population of Ice Giants. Otherwise, the continent is a mystery to modern humans.
Namrok is south of the Arctic Continent, the northern coasts dipping into the Arctic Circle. In ancient history, Namrok and the Arctic Continent used to be a singular landmass. Its northern half is predominantly tundra, and its southern half is temperate.
Ussiar is southeast of Namrok, its southern coasts grazing the equator. Its northern half is temperate forests and grasslands, and its southern half is within the tropics. Ussiar is considered the "most magical" continent, its western mountains The Silver Peaks one of the locations with the highest concentration of magical energy.
Kvolsum is southwest of Ussiar, its northern penninsula located above the equator and the continent all within the Tropic Circle. Ussiar and Kvolsum was once a massive landmass called Usso-Kvolsum, and was connected via landbridge until sea levels rose to modern levels around 7,000 years ago. Most of the continent is desert and savanna, the coasts lined with tropical forests and large patches of wetlands.
Danarsi is an archipelago west of Kvolsum. Its largest islands are the closest to the mainland, but it has a massive system of islands dotting the sea traveling northwest. Its largest islands are areas of high magic energy. *ML: Danarsi is the remains of a landmass that sank into the sea in ancient history. It was a low-lying continent, covered in savanna and tropical forests similarly to Kvolsum; when the sea levels rose, only its mountains remained and now made up the archipelago.*
Humans & Beings
Modern Humans
"Modern Human" refers to the four "races" of Felas, coming from each of the four continents.
Nami are the people of Namrok. They are known to be short, plump and pale, with the roundest ears of the races. Their hair tends to be dark, either black, some shade of brown, or more rarely dark reds; their eyes are usually dark shades of brown.
Erylai (sing. eryla) are the people of Ussiar. They are known to be tall and thin-faced, with the longest ears of the races. Their hair ranges from browns to red to blonde, and their eyes are typically green, blue and orange.
Khokan (sing. khokl) are the people of Kvolsum. They are known to be tall, stocky and dark-skinned, with the pointiest ears of the races. Their hair is thick and coily, typically dark brown or black. Their common eye colors are blue, purple and red.
Yoia (sing. yoi) are the people of the Danarsi Archipelago. They are known to be short with long pointed ears. Their hair, which can be thick like the khokan's or more curly than coily, is usually dark brown or black. Their eyes can range the most, the most common colors being green and yellow but could also be purple, red/orange, brown or blue.
Giants
Not much is known about Giants in the modern day. They are rare, being hunted to near-extinction in ancient and classical history. They are considered megafaunal humanoids, with paleo-intelligence. There are three "races" of giant: Ice, Mountain and Desert, all descended from an ancient race of humanoid called the Avertians. They were Felas' dominant intelligent species 3 million years ago, and utilized their magic to engineer advanced technology. Their society came to an end when their magic-power plants set off a global chain reaction of nuclear-level meltdowns.
Ice Giants are found on the Arctic Continent. In the past they could be found on Namrok's eastern glacial mountains, but have since been killed off. They are the shortest, hairiest and most aggressive of the giant races, preventing nami from exploring the northern lands.
Mountain Giants are the stockiest of the giants, found in Ussiar with some scattered populations in Kvolsum. They're depicted as the most aggressive giant, highly territorial and more often encountered by humans.
Desert Giants are only found on Kvolsum's hot deserts, and try to avoid human interaction.
Fey
"Fey" is an umbrella term for magic creatures with no Earth equivalent. Animals that also exist on Earth are referred to as "Beasts", and can have both mundane and magic species. Fey are highly diverse: some are physical, others are spiritual; some are sapient, while others are more like animals.
Nymphs are one of the most common type of Fey, flora given sentience through high-concentration levels of magic energy. Fairies, for examples, are flowers brought to life through magic. (Note: "brought to life" through natural magic forces; modern humans are incapable of creating life through magic.)
Some fey are created through magic-borne diseases infecting Beasts and Humans. The most common examples that affect humans are Vampirism and Therianthropy.
History
The dating system I use for Felas is Meta-Lore, to keep the timeline organized across cultures and nations that use different systems. Year 0, 0 G is marked with a genocidal attack that would shift the future of Felas. Known as the Winter Massacre, it was planned by nami colonies on Ussiar that wanted the erylai "pests" out of their way. Starting at first snowfall, hoards of hunters would track down erylai villages and kill everyone they found. The dating system uses PG ## for "Pre-Genocide" and ## G for Years Since.
There are three eras of history: Ancient History, which for geological and human history is Earth-equivalent with only small changes (like giants ruling the planet millions of years ago, for example); Classic History/Antiquity, which is the beginning of civilization on Felas, the earliest forms of writing and other ways of recording events; and Modern History, which begins with the founding of the Imperial City of Ulprugo on Danarsi.
